Launch of the Kyle Chronicle
Kyle Chronicle is published by Carn Bren Publishing Ltd in partnership with the Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust (KoSDT) and with support from SSE Achany Fund and Beinn Tharsuinn Community Wind farm fund.
Silvia Muras, Kyle Chronicle Editor, said: “Kyle Chronicle aims to showcase the community we live in and we’re delighted to offer opportunities for local school pupils to join our editorial team and get a taste for journalism. We can’t wait to launch our first issue and extend our thanks to the Trust and everyone who has helped to bring this project to life.”
Commenting on the new magazine, David Watson, KoSDT Manager said: “Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust are delighted to support the launch of the new quarterly Kyle Chronicle Magazine. It is great that local children and young people are getting involved as contributors because it encourages communication between the generations. Like many places within the Highlands we have an ageing population with many living on their own, and a number of these people are less likely to use social media to connect with others. The Kyle Chronicle is a high quality, printed publication that will allow businesses, third sector organisations and other local groups to promote their services and activities, and to share their news – keeping people to keep up to date and feeling involved in the local community.”
Through the partnership with the Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust, free copies of the magazine will be delivered by 39 volunteers to every house in the area. There will be also copies for sale in local outlets. The online version of the magazine will be available from the 11 December at: https://kylechronicle.co.uk/
