This is an archive page. It was set up at the beginning of the pandemic to provide information to the community about where to turn for support.
Support for the Community
These next few months will be very challenging given the latest Scottish Government Lockdown restrictions and the fact that correct social distancing behaviour has become even more important due to the emergence of the new COVID-19 variant. We have managed to keep relatively safe and well in our communities until now, but the situation has changed significantly, and it is critically important that we all respect the national guidelines if we want to keep safe and well.
Therefore, at this difficult time, the Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust and the Bradbury Centre will continue to support you, in any way we can.
The staff and volunteers of the Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust can provide the following services:
Shopping Collection from Ardgay Stores & Highland Café, with delivery to your home address. Orders and payment must be placed in advance with the store (01863 766801), payment will be taken over the phone.
The Community Food Larder is a free food service and is available to everyone in our community. It runs on Tuesdays and Fridays (10am until 2pm) at The Shed (Red roofed building, Drovers Square, Ardgay). An appointment must be booked in advance by calling the Trust on 01863 766190.
The Kyle of Sutherland Helping Hand Home Energy Fund (supported by our colleagues at East and Central Sutherland CAB) provides financial assistance to those living in Ardgay & District or Creich Community Council areas who are finding it difficult to heat their homes due to their financial circumstances. The fund operates in a private and confidential manner, for more information please contact the Trust or email email@example.com.
It is particularly important during this time to keep your physical and mental health in tip-top condition so KoSDT provide several weekly online exercise classes: Ballroom/Latin (Tuesday 1:30pm – 3:30pm), Latin Cardio Fit (Tuesday 7pm – 8pm), Yoga (Wednesday 7:30pm – 8:30pm) and Gentle Exercise (Friday 2pm – 3pm). The classes are free and delivered on Zoom, for more information, please contact the Trust.
The staff and volunteers at The Bradbury Centre will provide the following services:
Delivery of prescriptions from Bonar Bridge Pharmacy (01863 760011) to your home address. Please contact the pharmacy directly if you wish to use this service.
Shopping Collection from the Kyle Bakery (01863 766272) and Swordale Farm Butchers (01863 766343). Orders and payment must be placed in advance with both stores, payment will be taken over the phone. Shopping will be delivered to your home address.
The Bradbury centre will also provide Hot Meals with delivery to your home address, there is a small charge for this service. Please contact the Bradbury Centre directly if you would like to enquire about the meal service.
If you require any of these services, or if you know of anyone else who is struggling, please get in touch. And please do not hesitate to contact KoSDT or The Bradbury Centre if you require anything which is not listed above.
Keep safe and well!
