The Energy Advice Service (TEAS)
TEAS was a two-year project funded until March 2019 by the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund. In the first year the team visited clients throughout East Sutherland to help them find practical and affordable ways to save energy, reduce their fuel bills, and cut their carbon footprint.
In the second year the project was expanded to cover all of Sutherland. Over 200 clients received a complete energy check and a written report. The service was completely free and impartial. An education and events programme was also delivered to raise awareness of how people could reduce their carbon footprint.
The Energy Advice Service received a prestigious Climate Challenge Fund Award in December 2018 in acknowledgement of the team’s important work, however, due to a cut in government funding, the Trust regrettably had to stop providing the service in April 2019.
